Leadership Team

Our mission is to enable Brown University students to leverage their resources to make the largest positive impact on the world.

To do this, we create opportunities for you to learn about the world’s most pressing problems, connect you with experts in these fields, and empower you to pursue a career tackling these challenges. On top of all this, we are a friendly community helping one another to do as much good as we can.

Effective altruism is changing the way we do good.

Effective altruism is about answering one simple question: How can we use our resources to improve the world as much as possible?

Rather than just doing what feels right, we use evidence and careful decision-making to find the very best causes on which to work.

But finding these causes is useless unless we work to solve them. Effective altruism is about following through. It's about practically applying our time and our tools to do the most good we can.

About Effective Altruism

Are you a critical thinker with an open mind hoping to make the world a better place?

If so, we encourage you to book a time to chat with us here and to apply to our Introductory Fellowship. Fellowship alumni form the core of our community—coming together for weekly discussions, social events, and visits from high-profile subject experts. Many form their own working groups or team up with our intercollegiate EA peers on Student-Directed High-Impact Projects (SHIPs).
